Admiral Farragut Academy was founded in 1933 on the banks of the Toms River in Pine Beach, New Jersey. The St. Petersburg campus opened in 1945 on the shores of Boca Ciega Bay and is the only campus open today. Through an act of Congress, the school is an Honor Naval Academy. The combination of invaluable academic and life lessons learned at Farragut creates what our students and alumni call “The Farragut Experience.” Farragut has graduated two of the 12 moon-walking astronauts (Alan Shepard ‘41 and Charlie Duke ‘43), along with world leaders in business, philanthropy, and the military. At Admiral Farragut, there is opportunity to obtain your pilot or scuba license, make robots come to life in the engineering program, partake in the marine science program, or be mentored in the leadership program. The beautiful Florida location offers 361 days of sunshine out of the year, with an average temperature of 73 degrees Fahrenheit.
