Established in 1926 in the town of North Andover, Brooks School provides a co-educational, college preparatory program for 380 students on a 270-acre campus overlooking Lake Cochichewick. With a challenging academic curriculum that includes 20 advanced placement courses, Brooks also offers opportunities to study abroad in Africa, Europe, and South America. Brooks offers a Students on the Forefront program also, where Juniors and Seniors are provided with innovative experiences that will expose them to research, technology, and advanced studies in the sciences. Every January, Brooks students partake in a "Winter Term" where students are immersed in a three-week one-topic course of study to put into practice the concept of "depth over breadth." Examples of Winter Term classes offered are History Detectives, Mock Trial, Storytelling of Sports, Health and Human Disease, Lego Engineering, The Art of Science of Scuba Diving, and the Complexity of War, amongst many others. The school’s exceptional athletic program has earned numerous league and New England championships.
