Description

Cotter Schools is located in Winona, Minnesota on 45 scenic acres. Cotter Schools is made up of a junior high and a high school. Every student gets an enriching experience at Cotter that is faith-centered. Cotter is a catholic school, but all faiths are welcome. Cotter Schools prepares students for their future endeavors by offering Advanced Placement (AP) courses. AP courses are designed to challenge students more than regular classes. AP courses also offer the potential to earn college credit if students score high enough on the AP exam. Cotter offers three other ways to earn college credit as well as the AP classes. Program for Advanced College Credit (PACC) allows students to be dual enrolled in St. Mary’s University and the high school. When the students take courses through dual enrollment, they are taught by the teachers at Cotter, but receive credit from the University. Project Lead The Way (PLTW) offers college credit for Introduction to Engineering and Design if they complete the class with a grade of 80% or better. Lastly, Post Secondary Education Option (PSEO) allows students to be a part-time student at Cotter and a local university.
