Fryeburg Academy

Fryeburg, Maine | High School, 9-12, PG, Co-ed | Founded in 1792

Description

Fryeburg Academy is an independent boarding and day school, serving grades 9-12 and postgraduate. Fryeburg is a classic New England village nestled in the foothills of the White Mountains and home to Fryeburg Academy. Fryeburg offers a close-knit community with endless outdoor activities in every season. Portland and Boston are within an hour and 2.5-hour drive and Portland International airport is about one hour away. Students will quickly feel a part of the close-knit community and build relationships with other students as well as faculty. At Fryeburg, students receive an authentic American High School experience. With a diverse collection of students, the possibilities are endless. The focus is on teaching the skills that lead to academic success: critical thinking, inquiry, and problem-solving. Because students are not ‘tracked,’ they are exposed to a variety of teaching and learning methods that demonstrate there is more than one way to think, process information, and express an idea.
