Hawaii Preparatory Academy (HPA) is a coeducational day and boarding school for kindergarten through 12th grade. Located in Kamuela, Hawaii, HPA draws in students from across the world to its breathtaking campus. On the island, students get to explore 11 of the 13 climate zones on our planet. The island features native Hawaiian culture to immerse into and two active volcanoes to investigate. The Upper Campus sits on 220 acres at the base of the Kohala Mountains. The campus has a fully sustainable Energy Lab that works with organizations like NASA. This teaches students the importance of sustainability and creating a better environment. HPA is unique because they want students to be global citizens. It is important to learn and understand other cultures, so HPA offers a travel program over spring break every year. Students in this program study, travel, and serve. These experiences combined with the curriculum at HPA prepare students for the ever changing world. The curriculum allows for many collaborative projects and hands on learning at places like the Energy Lab.
