Holderness is unique in its multiple opportunities to learn such as the Job Program, Outdoor Education, Senior Thesis, and experiential learning such as Outback, Artward Bound, and Project Outreach. Holderness's tradition of an All-School Read is an annual tradition for student chosen nominees to choose a book to read and spark debate with peers. At Holderness, international students are given a student mentor and a tutor to help with social and academic success and build a home away from home. The wide variety of sport offerings ensures that each student can find a place that's right for them.
