Lincoln Academy was founded in 1801 in Newcastle, Maine, making it the fourth oldest secondary school in the state. International students from 17 different countries attend. 60 teachers are spread across 11 different departments that include English for speakers of other languages, STEM, English, history, and social studies.
Lincoln Academy (LA) is an independent secondary school for boarding and day students grades 9-12 in Newcastle, Maine. LA’s campus is located on 100 acres on the scenic Maine coast. Students are about an hour away from the Portland International Jetport (PWM), and 3 hours away from the Boston Logan Airport. Being on the coast creates opportunities for marine classes for students to explore the environment around them.
