Shady Side Academy is a nationally recognized private school in Pittsburgh for boys and girls in grades Pre-K-12, with an optional boarding experience in high school. Students have opportunity to take part in specialized independent studies and a final senior project, which students choose based on topics they're passionate about. The SSA Farm program is a sustainability initiative where students are encouraged to learn how to grow and provide food, which is then sold to a local Farmer's Market or used by the cafeteria.
