St. Paul’s is a fully residential private school on a massive 2,000 acre campus in beautiful New Hampshire. It’s a small school with just over 500 students across four grades. Founded as an Episcopal school, St. Paul’s helps students improve their spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being and encourage students to put their new strengths to use for the greater good. Over 20 countries are represented at St. Paul’s, with international students making up 17% of the student body. Everyone at St. Paul’s is treated like family. Each house functions as a home, with faculty and students sharing the burden of chores and planning fun events together. St. Paul’s looks to not only improve a student’s mind, but their body and soul as well. With their Building Healthy Communities initiative, St. Paul’s helps to build a healthy, safe, and inclusive environment through relationship building.
Engagement, discovery, and teamwork are all things that the St. Paul’s faculty help to bring out of all students. One of the main differences at St. Paul’s is that courses run 6 days a week, with Wednesdays and Sundays being half days. Each full day begins with Chapel with a focus on reading, presentation, and music. Sports are a key part of the education philosophy at St. Paul’s, required of all students as a replacement for a physical education class. In all humanities courses, the Harkness education system is applied, were students openly discuss topics with only the guidance of the teacher. In addition to St. Paul’s rigorous classroom education, students are expected to excel in four other areas: living in the community, community service, sports, and chapel.
